Boundary Commission proposed changes in Cumbria

July 9, 2021 10:58 PM

The Boundary Commission has announced extraordinary new Parliamentary Constituencies for Cumbria which have astounded and bemused many local people.

Proposed constituency boundaries

Only someone sitting in an office in London who has never been to Cumbria could come up with new constituencies that put Windermere in with Whitehaven, Kirkby Lonsdale in with Alston and crosses the county boundary to Lancashire.

However, these are just draft proposals for the moment, and the Boundary Commission say they want to hear the views of local people first before progressing.
